TASTING SESSIONS
If you have ever wondered how to experience an authentic gastronomic discovery of Italian rich traditions of culinary excellence,
then this is the right place for you!
STUDY PROGRAMS IN ITALY organizes wine- and food tours, as well as interesting tasting sessions of typical local products.

We will provide you a full immersion into the gastronomic culture of the Umbria region
and offer you the opportunity to encounter in-house producers, who will explain you in detail the way they work.
WINE

The Umbria region has alway been closely bound to its land, and has a long tradition in cultivating grapes and producing wines. Here you can find numerous wineries, small and large producers who offer tastings and vineyard tours.
Umbria wine-growing tradition is marked by the presence of the Etruscans and Romans, and many of the wines produced in the region are well-known and appreciated all over the world.
The production of quality wines from Umbria mainly consist of Chardonnay, Grechetto, Trebbiano and Malvasia Bianca white wines, and Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Montepulciano, Merlot, Barbera and Canaiolo red wines.
In 2017 Gambero Rosso bestowed its coveted "Tre Bicchieri" award (which singles out a wine as being one of Italy’s best) to three types of wine produced in Orvieto: Grechetto, Montefalco Sagrantino and Ciliegiolo di Narni.

OLIVE OIL

The olive oil is an essential ingredient in Italian cooking.
It's no coincidence that Italy is one leading oil producer at international level, with its 37 PDO designations recognised by the European Union.

We organize guided-tours at Bartolomei mill, a family-run-company born in the green heart of Umbria – Montecchio and Orvieto – at the end of the 19th century and whose products achieved many quality certifications in the course of the years. In order to make the most of and help the public know more about the agricultural life of Umbria, the Vecchio Frantoio Bartolomei has also created a museum of its own, collecting old machinery and vintage objects regarding the cultivation of olives.

The services offered include a visit to the museum and mini-courses on oil tasting.
ICE - CREAM

Thanks to the wide variety of fine gourmet ice-cream emporiums, gourmands will find in Orvieto their paradise!
And despite the quality ingredients, prices are no higher than usual.

Gelato maestros will be there to demonstrate their art, hold workshops and mini-courses and have you taste their delicious products!
